Free Eye Screening and Cataract Surgery camp

The 5-day-long eye camp, “Gift of Sight – Free Eye Screening & Cataract Surgery Camp,” was successfully concluded on 7th December 2025 as a powerful joint service program of 15 Rotary Clubs, including the Rotary Club of Yala, with generous support from the Rotary Clubs of Tasmania and Mr. David Yaxlay, Australia, and with technical support from Hetauda Community Hospital.
RC Hetauda served as the Host Club for this meaningful service project.
From December 3 onward, eye screenings were conducted across five locations of Indrasarobar Rural Municipality, Markhu, Sisneri, Kulekhani, Fakhel & Mahadevsthan, examining 329 individuals.
59 successful cataract surgeries were performed on December 6 and Post-surgery eye opening took place on December 7
This impactful project contributes to RI District 3292’s goal of completing 10,000 eye screenings and 1,000 cataract surgeries during Rotary Year 2025–26.
